Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL

Q. What are the technical requirements for being able to watch a webinar?
Operating System: At least Windows XP or higher or OS X 10.5 or higher
Internet Connection: Broadband 768 kbps or greater
Browser: Latest version of Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or Safari with Javascript enabled.
Software: Adobe Flash Player; you may also want to consider downloading a media player if you don’t already have one.

Q. Do you offer any online degree programs? IPS recently started offering an online Master’s (M.S.) Degree in General Psychology. To learn more about this new degree, visit the program’s webpage.

Q. What is the refund policy?  Refunds will vary according to the length of time and the amount of material accessed since the purchase. It is important to use that you are fully satisfied with your learning experience, so if you are in need of a refund, please contact us at customerservice@ipsciences.edu.

 

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS

Q. Who are the presenters? The presenters are licensed mental health professionals from across the United States who have integrated their Catholic faith within their specialty and psychological practice.

Q. What is the format? Certificate programs are a series of webinars focusing on a particular theme or area of interest. Certificate programs each have 3-5 webinar presentations, and each presentation is followed by a test that must be passed to proceed to the next lesson.

Q: How do I get started with my Certificate Program? After completing your purchase, you will receive an email from the Office of Online Education with a username and temporary password. Use them to login to our online learning platform. Once you have logged in, you will see additional instructions on the home screen for accessing your particular program.

Q. When can I work on the Certificate Program? When you purchase the program, you have 30 days to complete it. During that time, you have access 24 hours a day and can pause your work and return whenever is convenient.

Q. Is there a limit to how many times I can watch a presentation? During your 30 days of access, you can rewatch any of the presentations.

Q. Some of the presenters make reference to slides. Is it possible to get a copy of these slides? Can I have a copy of the slides the presenter used? The slides used by the presenter are the property of the presenter and, for copyright purposes, these materials are not available for personal use.  If you have a question regarding the material presented, please email customerservice@ipsciences.edu.

Q. I am part of a group that would benefit from taking some of the Certificate Programs. Do you have any special opportunities for groups interested in using the programs for training? As a matter of fact we do. In our brief time offering Certificates, we have partnered with seminaries, schools, dioceses, and spiritual directors. To discuss these opportunities and your group’s specific needs, please email kelsey.clemson@ipsciences.edu and ask about group licensing.

Q. When can I expect to receive my certificate? After completing the course, you should receive your certificate in the mail within a month. Please be sure to complete the survey and application for certificate completely to ensure you receive your certificate.

Q. What is the format? The webinars are pre-recorded presentations that have been edited to maximize the quality and content.

Q. Can I watch the webinar(s) anytime? Webinars can be watched at any time within 30 days of purchase. You can start, pause, go back, and skip ahead as you like.

Q. Is there a limit to how many times I can watch a webinar? There is no limit to the number of times you can watch a webinar within 30 days from purchase.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

Q. For what professions are CEs offered? CE credits are available for licensed mental health professionals who require CEs for the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC), the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Maryland Board, and the American Psychological Association (APA). For more information on eligibility for CE units, please visit our page on Accreditation Information.

Q. What do I need to do to receive CEs for a webinar? After you view the webinar, you are able to purchase the CE test. Once you have made the purchase you will see a link to take a quiz based on the material you just watched.  After passing the test, you will receive a final link so you can  immediately print off your CE certificate containing all of the necessary information for your licensing board.  For more information regarding CE process, please visit our page CE Testing: How It Works.

Q. How long will it take to receive my CE certificate after I view a webinar? After passing the test, you will receive a link to immediately print off your CE certificate which contains all of the necessary information for your licensing board.

Q. I lost the CE Certificate of Completion.  Can I get a replacement? For a duplicate Certificate of Completion, please contact us at customerservice@ipsciences.edu. There is a $10.00 replacement charge.
