How do we become who we are? How do we define ourselves? Identity development is a lifelong journey that involves constant dialogue with ourselves and others. This presentation will focus on the formation of a normal, healthy identity including the four levels of identity, the importance of relationships, and the role neuroscience plays in identity development. This presentation also covers current problems surrounding the formation of healthy identity and leading to a current state of crisis in the West including affective immaturity and other dysfunctional emotional-relating patterns.
