Addictions & Recovery
Sexual Addiction Awareness
In this workshop, Dan Spadaro, LPC, CSAT, specifically addresses how those who work in ministry can help those struggling with sexual addictions. From a Catholic/Christian anthropological approach, those who work in ministry play an important role in helping those struggling with sexual addiction utilize spiritual tools that aid in the recovery process. Spadaro offers concrete ways in which those in ministry can support the reintegration of the marriage of those who struggle with sexual addictions. Additionally, he provides other ways that those in ministry can support the recovery process including developing parish-based men’s group, youth support, etc. This workshop is 35 minutes long and can be watch at any time after registration.
At the end of the presentation, participants will be able to:
- Identify techniques used to support the reintegration of the marriage and the value of process groups in helping the addicted man recover.
- Discuss the practices that those in ministry can implement to help those struggling with sexual addictions. Practices include parish-based men’s groups, youth support, the use of confession, and growth in virtue.
